Time Flies!

It has been awhile since my last post.  The year really sucked me in!  There were lots of successes and even more learning.  It was a whirlwind of art, research, expression, discussion, problem solving, critical thinking, reflecting, revisions and exhibits.  We had FOUR art exhibits this year, including our event at Studio J Loft and our first annual Raptor Fine Arts Showcase.

It was my very first year teaching AP Studio Art with an amazing group of students.  What an experience my AP Studio Art students had as we held our first community AP Studio Exhibit.  Thanks for the lovely venue to display highlight our student artists, Judd Sather and the Loft at Studio J team!  I am very thankful for them and have learned so much about this course in just one year.  I am anticipating our portfolio scores within the next 10 days.  Here is an example of their Concentration section.  They worked very hard.  I look forward to continuing to hear about my graduating seniors' adventures in art and beyond.  I also look forward to my incoming class of 16-17 AP Studio Art students!

It was also very busy and exciting teaching all of the other courses here at East Ridge this year; Sculpture, Painting A, Painting B, Drawing B, Advanced Fine Art Photography, Graphic Design and VisComm.  My students are truly unique in their many talents and I am lucky to teach them.  Below is a slideshow of fun moments my students and I have had this year and some of the incredible artworks I have had the pleasure to mentor during the creation process.
